DHL announces Temporary Adjustments to U.S. Shipping Due to New Customs Regulations
April 17, 2025
Effective April 5, 2025, all shipments to the U.S. with a declared customs value exceeding USD 800 will require formal entry processing, following new regulatory thresholds that have lowered the previous limit from USD 2,500. As a result, the industry has seen a significant increase in formal customs clearances, impacting processing times.
To manage this surge, and in alignment with temporary measures implemented by DHL, B2C shipments to private individuals in the U.S. with a declared customs value exceeding USD 800, effective April 21, 2025 are suspended until further notice.
Business-to-business (B2B) shipments to U.S. companies with declared values above USD 800 will continue, though they may experience delays as customs clearance volumes increase.
We understand that this adjustment may impact customers, and we appreciate your patience as we work closely with our logistics partners to navigate these regulatory changes. Rapid Despatch will provide updates as the situation evolves.
